RESUMO

Severe icing of transmission lines causes power failures, tower collapses, and other adverse events, which hinders the normal operation of society. Existing icing monitoring methods have problems of irregular monitoring and poor accuracy. In this study, we propose a comprehensive model for predicting hard rime and glaze ice using temperature, humidity, and historical icing data. The results of the experimental verification conducted for nine icing cycles in different years and geographic locations demonstrate that the proposed technique can effectively predict multiple types of icing while ensuring correlation coefficients > 0.99 and mean squared error < 4%.

RESUMO

Here, we report a copper-catalyzed asymmetric cascade cyclization/[1,2]-Stevens-type rearrangement via a non-diazo approach, leading to the practical and atom-economic assembly of various valuable chiral chromeno[3,4-c]pyrroles bearing a quaternary carbon stereocenter in generally moderate to good yields with wide substrate scope and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99 % ee). Importantly, this protocol not only represents the first example of catalytic asymmetric [1,2]-Stevens-type rearrangement based on alkynes but also constitutes the first asymmetric formal carbene insertion into the Si-O bond.

RESUMO

Several effectors from phytopathogens usually target various cell organelles to interfere with plant defenses, and they generally contain sequences that direct their translocation into organelles, such as chloroplasts. In this study, we characterized a different mechanism for effectors to attack chloroplasts in wheat (Triticum aestivum). Two effectors from Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), Pst_4, and Pst_5, inhibit Bax-mediated cell death and plant immune responses, such as callose deposition and reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation. Gene silencing of the two effectors induced significant resistance to Pst, demonstrating that both effectors function as virulence factors of Pst. Although these two effectors have low sequence similarities and lack chloroplast transit peptides, they both interact with TaISP (wheat cytochrome b6-f complex iron-sulfur subunit, a chloroplast protein encoded by nuclear gene) in the cytoplasm. Silencing of TaISP impaired wheat resistance to avirulent Pst and resulted in less accumulation of ROS. Heterogeneous expression of TaISP enhanced chloroplast-derived ROS accumulation in Nicotiana benthamiana. Co-localization in N. benthamiana and western blot assay of TaISP content in wheat chloroplasts show that both effectors suppressed TaISP from entering chloroplasts. We conclude that these biotrophic fungal effectors suppress plant defenses by disrupting the sorting of chloroplast protein, thereby limiting host ROS accumulation and promoting fungal pathogenicity.

RESUMO

A novel monitoring method based on fiber Bragg grating sensor for detecting the ice coating on power transmission lines is proposed and demonstrated in this study. Sensors are installed on transmission line towers to monitor micrometeorological information and machine learning algorithms based on Gaussian processes use the real-time monitoring results to predict the ice thickness on the lines. The experimental results prove that the mean squared error and mean absolute percentage error values between the predicted and actual values are both less than 1%. This is the first time that only micrometeorological information has been used to monitor ice thickness.

RESUMO

An efficient copper-catalyzed cyclization of N-propargyl ynamides with borane adducts through B-H bond insertion has been developed. A series of valuable organoboron compounds are constructed in generally good yields with a wide substrate scope and good functional group tolerance under mild reaction conditions. Importantly, this protocol via vinyl cation intermediates constitutes a novel way of B-H bond insertion.

RESUMO

The measurement of the leakage current and tower tension of transmission lines using fiber Bragg grating is proposed and demonstrated in this paper. The resonant frequency of the proposed leakage current sensor is about 100 Hz, the system sensitivity is about 1.3 nm/A and can measure the 50 Hz and 150 Hz frequency components of the leakage current accurately. However, it cannot measure the leakage current perfectly due to the complex frequency characteristics of leakage current. The proposed tension sensor has a system sensitivity of 0.054 nm/kN and exhibits good stability, linearity, and recovery.

RESUMO

Here an efficient copper-catalyzed cascade cyclization of azide-ynamides via α-imino copper carbene intermediates is reported, representing the first generation of α-imino copper carbenes from alkynes. This protocol enables the practical and divergent synthesis of an array of polycyclic N-heterocycles in generally good to excellent yields with broad substrate scope and excellent diastereoselectivities. Moreover, an asymmetric azide-ynamide cyclization has been achieved with high enantioselectivities (up to 98:2 e.r.) by employing BOX-Cu complexes as chiral catalysts. Thus, this protocol constitutes the first example of an asymmetric azide-alkyne cyclization. The proposed mechanistic rationale for this cascade cyclization is further supported by theoretical calculations.

RESUMO

The generation of metal carbenes from readily available alkynes represents a significant advance in metal carbene chemistry. However, most of these transformations are based on the use of noble-metal catalysts and successful examples of such an asymmetric version are still very scarce. Here a copper-catalyzed enantioselective cascade cyclization of N-propargyl ynamides is reported, enabling the practical and atom-economical construction of diverse chiral polycyclic pyrroles in generally good to excellent yields with wide substrate scope and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 97:3 e.r.). Importantly, this protocol represents the first copper-catalyzed asymmetric diyne cyclization. Moreover, mechanistic studies revealed that the generation of donor/donor copper carbenes is presumably involved in this 1,5-diyne cyclization, which is distinctively different from the related gold catalysis, and thus it constitutes a novel way for the generation of donor/donor metal carbenes.

RESUMO

A novel Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, oxidase-positive, motile, dimorphic rod bacterium, with a polar flagellum or a polar prostheca, designated as strain WD6-1T, was isolated from a sediment sample collected from a marine solar saltern located in Weihai, PR China. Growth of strain WD6-1T was observed at 15-45 °C (optimum, 37-40 °C). The pH range for growth was pH 6.0-9.5 (optimum, pH 7.0-7.5) while the NaCl concentration was 1.0-16.0 % (w/v; optimum, 5.0 %). The most closely related species was Marinicauda algicola (97.0 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity). The DNA G+C content of strain WD6-1T was 69.5 mol% and the sole respiratory quinone was ubiquinone 10 (Q-10). The major cellular fatty acids (>10 %) of strain WD6-1T included summed feature 8 (comprising C18 : 1ω7c and/or C18 : 1ω6c), C18 : 0 and C17 : 0, and the major polar lipids were glucuronopyranosyldiglyceride, monoglycosyldiglyceride and sulfo-quinovosyl diacylglycerol. Based on the results of phylogenetic, genotypic and phenotypic analyses, the isolate is representative of a new member of the genus Marinicauda, for which the name Marinicaudasalina sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is WD6-1T (=KCTC 62348T=MCCC 1H00282T).

RESUMO

A novel insulator string leakage current-monitoring sensor based on a fiber Bragg grating (FBG), cantilever beam, and spiral coil is demonstrated. The spiral coil is used to convert the leakage current into the force exerted on the cantilever structure, which is obtained by measuring the strain of the FBG. Experimental results show that the linear regression correlation coefficient is 0.99964. In addition, although the leakage current measurement is not sufficiently accurate, the 50-Hz component measurement is accurate. The sensor is suitable for use as an insulator string flashover warning and has promising prospects for future grid security protection applications.

RESUMO

AIM: To identify clinicopathological factors predictive of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in intramucosal poorly differentiated early gastric cancer (EGC), and further to expand the possibility of using endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for the treatment of intramucosal poorly differentiated EGC. METHODS: Data for 81 surgically treated patients with intramucosal poorly differentiated EGC were collected, and the association between the clinicopathological factors and the presence of LNM was retrospectively analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated. Several clinicopathologic factors were investigated to identify predictive factors for lymph nodes metastasis, including gender, age, family history of gastric cancer, number of tumors, tumor location, ulceration, tumor size, macroscopic type, lymphatic vessel involvement, and signet-ring-cell component. RESULTS: Tumor size (OR = 7.273, 95%CI: 1.246-29.918, P = 0.042), lymphatic vessel involvement (OR = 42.219, 95%CI: 1.923-97.052, P = 0.018) and signet-ring-cell component (OR = 17.513, 95%CI: 1.647-77.469, P = 0.034) that were significantly associated with LNM by univariate analysis, were found to be significant and independent risk factors for LNM by multivariate analysis. However, gender, age, family history of gastric cancer, number, location, ulceration and macroscopic type of tumor were found not to be associated with LNM. Of these 81 patients diagnosed with intramucosal poorly differentiated EGC, 7 (8.6%) had LNM. The LNM rates were 9.1%, 22.2% and 57.1%, respectively, in cases with one, two and three of the risk factors. There was no LNM in 54 patients without the three risk clinicopathological factors. CONCLUSION: Tumor size, lymphatic vessel involvement and signet-ring-cell component are independently associated with the presence of LNM in intramucosal poorly differentiated EGC. Thus, these three risk factors may be used as a simple criterion to expand the possibility of using ESD for the treatment of intramucosal poorly differentiated EGC.

RESUMO

The high-volume resistivity and surface resistance of poly(ether ether ketone)/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (PEEK/MWCNT) composites restrict their use in an electronic field. To decrease the volume resistivity and surface resistance, we metalized the composites by electroless plating. The composites and metal coatings were characterized by SEM, XPS, AFM, EDX, and XRD spectroscopy. The swelling ratio of the composites, volume resistivity of two-side-coated composites, sheet resistance of plated composites, and adhesion between the coating and PEEK/MWCNT were tested. The results are as follows. A high roughness and a small swelling ratio were obtained by swelling in 18 mol/L H2SO4 for 3 min. Most of the MWCNT on the surface were still wrapped with PEEK after swelling. To expose the MWCNT, an environmentally friendly and effective etchant (MnO2-NaH2PO4-H2SO4) was used. After etching, not only were high roughness and partially exposed MWCNT obtained but also the percentage of hydrophilic groups on the surface was increased. A dense cauliflower-like Ni-P coating was produced, and the exposed MWCNT were embedded in the metal coating after electroless plating for 20 min. The coating exhibited an amorphous structure with a phosphorus content of 11.21 wt %. The volume resistivity of two-side-coated PEEK/MWCNT dropped sharply to 38 Ω·m after electroless plating for 5 min. The sheet resistance decreased with increasing the electroless-plating time, and it dropped to 0.88 Ω/square after electroless plating for 40 min. The adhesion of the coating reached the highest 5 B scale (ASTM D3359) and could even undergo the test 20 times.

RESUMO

AIM: To investigate the predictive factors of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in poorly differentiated early gastric cancer (EGC), and enlarge the possibility of using laparoscopic wedge resection (LWR). METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed 85 patients with poorly differentiated EGC who underwent surgical resection between January 1992 and December 2010. The association between the clinicopathological factors and the presence of LNM was retrospectively analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. Odds ratios (OR) with 95%CI were calculated. We further examined the relationship between the positive number of the three significant predictive factors and the LNM rate. RESULTS: In the univariate analysis, tumor size (P = 0.011), depth of invasion (P = 0.007) and lymphatic vessel involvement (P < 0.001) were significantly associated with a higher rate of LNM. In the multivariate model, tumor size (OR = 7.125, 95%CI: 1.251-38.218, P = 0.041), depth of invasion (OR = 16.624, 95%CI: 1.571-82.134, P = 0.036) and lymphatic vessel involvement (OR = 39.112, 95%CI: 1.745-123.671, P = 0.011) were found to be independently risk clinicopathological factors for LNM. Of the 85 patients diagnosed with poorly differentiated EGC, 12 (14.1%) had LNM. The LNM rates were 5.7%, 42.9% and 57.1%, respectively in cases with one, two and three of the risk factors respectively in poorly differentiated EGC. There was no LNM in 29 patients without the three risk clinicopathological factors. CONCLUSION: LWR alone may be sufficient treatment for intramucosal poorly differentiated EGC if the tumor is less than or equal to 2.0 cm in size, and when lymphatic vessel involvement is absent at postoperative histological examination.
